Type "Harry Potter" as a text on your phone. Now press the predictive text button a few times. I got "Harry Potter was the time to come", but my phone has been trained on my texts and you'll likely get something different. But if you train the predictive algorithm on the complete Harry Potter series, you get this, from Botnik:
Predictive text has been used to generate songs before, and AIs have been used to create movie scripts, but they all seemed a bit stilted. The plot of this one is nonsense, but I'm amazed at how well this one reads: it definitely has that Harry Potter style.
You can try out the predictive keyboards for Narration and Dialogue here, but the results aren't as impressive as the text above, at least if you keep selecting the first option (I get "Said harry quickly as possible skulduggery behind him" if I keep pressing '1'). I suspect the 12 contributors listed here had a significant hand in selecting the words and curating the dialogue. But still, kudos — it's downright hilarious in places.
That's all from us for this week. See you on Monday!
